Today is about light and darkness, and both are working for you. The challenge is to learn how to take best advantage of both. The light of the sun is on its way back; next week is the Winter Solstice marking the return of the light to the northern hemisphere. But the darkness isn’t done with us yet, and that’s ok. There is work to be done and we still can’t see where we’re going–and it may even feel like we’re not going anywhere yet. But there is an entire world of potential in the seeds that lie beneath the surface of the earth, still in darkness themselves, and they’re waiting for that precious sunlight to warm the ground where they lie so that they can begin to grow and manifest. You’re not done wishing yet, and it’s important to remember to work toward making your wishes and dreams a reality. Don’t lose heart, though, and focus where you can on the return of the light, even if you’re still surrounded by the dark. Try to make friends with it while it’s around: you never know what you’ll learn or how that will help you in the future.
So, yeah. There’s this. “Endure it or end it.” What are you beating yourself up about? What demons are you fighting? You’re letting it all get away from you because you’ve been trying to do too much. Maybe only one of those demons is actually real, and the rest are just shadows you’re fighting in your mind. The task is to find out which ones are insubstantial and irrelevant to the current path and stop fighting them. They’ll go away if you stop putting energy into them. The task is to find the one that is relevant, the one demon who matters right now. Be selective. Let your mind relax. Be at peace with where you are so that you can see better where you actually are.
Well, as obvious draws go, this one is a doozy. We’re all getting nudged by a Cosmic Captain Obvious over here. It’s time to stay still, rooted in what’s most important to us, and do whatever work we love most. Let the inspiration and creativity flow and stop stopping it. Don’t listen to the voices of others that say you can’t do whatever it is you want to do. Stop listening to that chorus, because it sucks and isn’t even right. It’s just a yammering that’s coming from its own ground of fear and hatred, and while we can feel compassion for the people speaking these words if we want to (that whole bodhicitta thing), we aren’t compelled to do what they say. We aren’t serving them or ourselves by surrendering our passion and love simply because they’re miserable. Stop running away from your own inspiration. Stop letting them take your beauty. You’ve been given immeasurable gifts, and not using them because they haven’t been given to others as well is just stupid and has got to stop.
In today’s draw we’re reminded that we can’t always know how things will turn out, so it’s important to do our best no matter what. Don’t pretend to be something you’re not or to have knowledge you don’t have. It will affect your reputation, so be honest and keep it simple. Also beware of teachers who promise things that you know in your heart they can’t deliver. If someone tells you they have the answer to your problem or issue and it feels in your gut like it’s too good to be true: it is. That teacher has taken shortcuts to get where they are, and you don’t want any part of that drama. So steer clear, do your work as best you can, and keep moving.
Today it’s important to not run away with your emotions. Things will come up, of course, but keep your head. When you get emotional, it’s easier for people to take advantage of you. It’s easier for your enthusiasm to become energy for other people’s dramas. So stay focused. Don’t let fear or anxiety or even desire run the show. If things go bad, just go with the flow. Look for signs, but keep moving. Take care of yourself and do what you need to do for you, but keep your head about you. Be sensible, and don’t let other people’s freak-outs become your freak-outs. Stay grounded.
Today’s draw is a validation that change is at hand, and new things are being born. You must protect these things, and for god’s sake use your heads. Don’t give away the farm just to get somebody to love/like/approve of you. Be as discerning as you know how to be, drawing on past experiences and the wisdom of others but always relying ultimately on your own judgment as the final arbiter. Measure twice and cut once, and be at peace once you make those cuts. Invest in your own future and your own lives, not someone else’s. Don’t give away your magic no matter how handsome that stranger is or how much you’re attracted to him/her. And no matter how enchanting the idea might be of running off to join the circus to just get away from everything, be aware that you’d probably end up cleaning up after the elephants, and do you really want to do that? Best to face the reality here and now–face it and get past it.
Today’s draw is about going within in search of Mother wisdom, that deep kind of knowing that we’re all born with but that many of us get separated from for whatever human reasons. Be clear in your seeing. Don’t be misled by the views and chatter of Patriarchy and how Mother is seen by it (or maybe even how the Sacred Masculine is portrayed in the material world by Patriarchy)–it’s not based on an accurate representation of the real power of the Feminine. There is truth buried within you, and you need to go find it. We here at Muse’s Darling Industries are feeling this very personally today: we have never felt very close to the Sacred Feminine and we were thinking just yesterday how much comfort we derive from the Masculine expressions of the divine. We don’t go to the Mother for comfort or wisdom. But today’s draw is a reminder that that needs to change. So go traveling, and find Her.
